Whether you are a new or old pet owner, you are well familiar with the fact that pet vaccinations are a requirement for your pet. They can save your pet’s life and are a mandatory part of ensuring your pet has the care they need to stay healthy. If your pet has not yet received their pet vaccinations, you can make an appointment with your vet or animal hospital to find out which pet vaccinations they need.
Cat vaccinations
Cats need regular vaccines just like dogs do. From the moment of their birth, they will need to receive specific vaccinations to ensure they are getting the health care they need to grow and flourish. At about one year of age, the cat will need to get a Rabies vaccination. This will make sure that they don’t develop Rabies which is a disease that is not reversible and can end in death. If your pet is older than one year of age and still has not received this vaccination, you will need to see to it that they get this one right away. Pet vaccinations can mean the difference of life and death and it is up to the pet owner to get the animal the care they need.
Dog Vaccinations
Dogs also need vaccinations as early as a few months of age. They need a Rabies vaccination at 12 months and again at 36 months of age. If your pet has been found and rescued and you are not sure whether or not they have received the vaccines that they need, you can get the pet vaccines administered at your local animal hospital. The vet there will do an inspection and general exam and provide you with information about whether your pet has been spayed or neutered and what types of pet vaccines they will need.
Scheduling an appointment
It is easier to procrastinate than to be responsible and the same is true when it comes to pet vaccinations. If your pet is due for their shots, don’t delay. Instead schedule an appointment as soon as possible so that you can take care of all of your pet’s vaccination needs. This is the most responsible thing you can do as a pet owner and is the best way to see to it that your pet gets the care that they need.
