Security cameras are essential for every office space to keep an eye on the surroundings and the personnel. For the most part, the offices use a wireless jobsite security camera, but they hardly pay attention to the battery. Having said that, there are various tips that can be followed to ensure proper maintenance and longer lifespan of the batteries.

Maintaining the Battery Case

The battery case of the cameras should be properly maintained to prevent corrosion. For this purpose, you have to look for the cracks, and if there are some, the battery case should be replaced. In addition to this, the battery posts and terminals must be regularly cleaned to prevent corrosion because it can interfere with the electric current flow.

Brackets

The battery case’s brackets should be regularly cleaned to keep corrosion and rust at bay. Secondly, the brackets must be properly tightened to ensure batteries are secured in place. This is because loose brackets result in the battery’s vibration, which damages the camera’s components and shortens the battery’s lifespan.

Fan Belt

The loose fan belt of the jobsite security camera can also impact the performance of the battery. In particular, it disturbs the recharging capacity of the battery. For this reason, the fan belt must be regularly inspected and replaced by Military Battery Systems or other battery companies in case of cracks and fraying.

Preventing the Battery Memory

Battery memory is the fluctuation in the voltage of the battery, which results in loss of stored energy, and the camera won’t be able to determine the charge level. In the majority of cases, battery memory is caused by incomplete recharging cycles. So, it’s time that you fully charge the batteries before use and discharge them once a month.
