Aluminum panel clips are often used as a way for supporting heavy objects on a wall due to their durability. They are considered as the “go to” solution when people want some strong support that is more aesthetic than simply hammering into the wall with a nail and hanging a painting by a hook. However, as is often the case when it comes to a business, sometimes it’s necessary to redesign your business space leaving you with the task of having to remove the panel clips you put in place and transfer them elsewhere. While you could hire a professional to do it, you can save money and do it yourself since it is not that difficult to accomplish.

Removing the Clips
The first step when it comes to the process of transferring a clip is removing it. They are normally supported by two screws which go directly into the wall behind them. As such, it is actually a simply matter of getting the correct kind of screwdriver and simply unscrew them from the wall. The clip should fall off rather easily once this is done.

Determining the Correct Positioning
Before putting a new clip in place, you need to determine its correct position based on the item you will put there. The best way to do so is to simply hold up the painting in the new wall it’s going on and determine the right place where the clip should be. Have someone hold up the painting while you make an appropriate mark with a pencil. Once the mark is in place, bring up the panel clip and position it on the mark. After that, make two dots on the holes where the nails should be. Bring down the clip and use a small electric drill to lightly make two appropriate shaped holes in the hole markers that were created.

Placing the New Clip
Once the holes have been made, place the clip and put both screws through the holes and slowly screw them into place. Keep on screwing until it reaches a point where the screws feel too tight to move any more. After both screws have been placed in, test the strength of the clip with your hands and if it feels stable, place the painting or frame on it.

Congratulations! You have now successfully removed and reinstalled a panel clip from one wall onto another. As you can see, the process is not that difficult and you don’t really need a professional to help you with the installation.
