There is a process known as micro welding that is revolutionizing how small pieces and parts get joined together. Not only has that process become possible, but the accuracy and repeatability are now as good as applications of normal sizes.
It just takes the right micro welding equipment. With the right equipment, there are various types of micro welding that one could do. Here are just a few of the different types.
Flash Micro Welding
Flash micro welding utilizes high pressure to create cleaner joints. Typically, you would use micro welding equipment to join two metal components together using high pressure. They are pressed together slowly and tightly and at a very specific temperature.
The idea behind flash micro welding is to keep costs low while optimizing production. This kind of welding operation is generally used for making chains that are made up of precious metals such as silver and gold.
Micro Laser Welding
Micro welding equipment can also be used for micro laser welding. The technique, as the name implies, uses lasers and does not require the use of any gas to complete the welding process. The pierce is much deeper than other welding applications which ultimately creates a much stronger fusion weld.
With no gas required, there is no risk of contaminating any of the surrounding metals. This type of micro welding is used for applications in the medical, automotive, and electronics industries, further illustrating its versatility.
