Precision metal stamping focuses on offering specific stamping services – ones intended to render aluminum, stainless steel, brass, and other metals into the most intricate components.

Types

When it comes to applying precision stamping techniques to metal, fabricating companies have several methods upon which to draw. While many different types exist, the following three have proven to be popular.

• Progressive Die Metal Stampings: This is probably the most common type of metal stamping in use today. The low cost of this method is in part responsible for this. While it involves the use of more than one stamping station, this type of stamping is perfect for certain operations. In fact, it is ideal for long runs because the die lasts longer than other dies before succumbing to damage. High repeatability, speed, and less waste than other precision metal stamping processes are also excellent reasons for its ongoing acceptance.

• Deep Drawn Metal Stampings: This type of metal stamping is sought by companies requiring parts with several series of diameters. Fabricators know it is more cost-effective than drawing and less wasteful in its use of material. Automakers and those who produce electronic delays or silver and cookware prefer this method.

• Multi-Slide Metal Stampings: Also known as four slide metal stampings, this is the most precise of these three processes. It is the one fabricators employ when the customer specifies intricate cuts, complex bends, and/or sophisticated components.
